About Elizabeth L. Strazzulla

Enter The Horse

For most of us that love horses, it starts at an early age. At first encounter – one just knows that horses must be a part of one’s life. This held true for me as well. I began riding at 5 and treasured the company of horses ever since. I competed throughout my junior years focusing on side saddle hunters and equitation, earning several national championships. Later, I was awarded a bronze medal for lifetime achievement by the International SideSaddle Organization. Although I don't compete currently, I still love the company of our family horses- a retired Irish Sport Horse, a retired quarter horse, and a Dutch Warmblood cross. Through my work, I also support equine rescue.

My world has always been filled with art, music and animals. I began painting, drawing and playing the piano at an early age. I pursued my formal studies first in music to a Bachelor in Arts degree. After college I began formal training in art. First I worked in a local studio with painter R. Scott Jackson then I continued studying in Florence, Italy-first with Charles H. Cecil at the studio that bears his name, then at the Florence Academy of Art under C. Daniel Graves. My work has been included in many galleries, national shows and competitions. I now pursue my art from my farm in Massachusetts surrounded by my family and the horses, dogs and cats who feature in my work.

The goal of my pieces is to create something beautiful that brings to your home the elegance and peace of horses and the countryside. I hope my paintings and drawings perpetuate the life and spirit of the horse, countryside, and the energy of the moment.
