Painted on Belgian Portrait Linen and mounted on a panel with oils pigments in a color palette of Winter White Sky to Blues with shades of burgundy red and accent tones.
Looking out my studio window, I saw this charming Carolina Wren alight on a low branch near the freshly fallen snow. His silhouetted shape backlit by the sunlit snow and tree shadows was a warm spot of cheer in the wintery landscape.
